How the calculation works
- The fixed fee and the percentage fee (a percentage of the amount sent) are taken first, in the sending currency.
- What remains is converted. If the currencies differ, the provider’s rate is the exchange rate you entered minus the margin: rate × (1 − margin ÷ 100).
- The receiving fee is then taken in the receiving currency. The total cost adds every fee and the margin, expressed in the sending currency at the rate you entered.
- Results are rounded to the currency’s smallest unit only for display; the calculation itself is not rounded.
What this calculator does not do
- It does not know any provider’s current fees or rates: you enter them.
- It does not include taxes, bank charges outside the transfer, or fees that depend on the payment method you use to fund the transfer, unless you add them as a fee.
- Some providers apply their fees after conversion or in a different order; the result can then differ slightly.
