How Google pays AdSense and YouTube earnings

Google pays AdSense and YouTube earnings once a month, from separate payments accounts, once each one reaches its threshold. Here is the cycle and what each payment method involves.

Two payments accounts, two thresholds

If you earn from both AdSense (on websites) and YouTube, Google keeps two separate payments accounts, and each has its own payment threshold: the two balances are not added together. [1] [2]

The threshold depends on the reporting currency of your account. With US dollars, Google pays once a payments account reaches $100. Our country guides list the thresholds for Turkish lira, UAE dirhams and Egyptian pounds. [3] [4]

The monthly payment cycle

Early each month, Google finalises the previous month’s estimated earnings and posts them to your Payments page. [5]

Changes to your payment details must be made by the 20th of the month; changes made after the 20th only apply from the following month’s payment cycle. [6]

Google issues payments between the 21st and the 26th of the month. [7]

Google does not pay early or outside this schedule, for any reason. [8]

Payment methods and how long they take

The methods you can choose depend on your payment address. If a method is not shown on the “Add payment method” page of your account, it is not available in your country. [9] [10]

After a payment is issued, a bank transfer (EFT) arrives within up to seven business days, a cheque takes two to four weeks by post, and a wire transfer can take up to 15 business days. [11] [12] [13]

Fees and currency

Google does not charge a fee to receive your payment, but your bank may charge its own fees. [14]

You cannot change your payment currency once it is set. [15]
