AdSense identity and address (PIN) verification explained

Before Google pays you, it verifies who you are and where you live. Both checks have deadlines; missing them pauses your account or stops ads.

Updated October 14, 2026

Identity verification

Google asks you to verify your identity with a government-issued photo ID. [1]

You have 45 days from the date Google first asks. For a new AdSense account, if verification is not complete after 45 days, Google pauses the activation of the account. [2] [3]

Google’s identity verification page for Türkiye says verification can take up to 2 days. [4]

Address verification with a PIN

Google mails a 6-digit PIN to your payments address, and it does not send any payment until the address is verified. [5] [6]

The letter usually takes 3 weeks to arrive; if it has not arrived after 3 weeks, you can request a replacement PIN. [7] [8]

You have 4 months from the date the PIN is generated to enter it, and entering a wrong PIN 3 times stops ads on your account. [9] [10]

Check that your payments address is complete and written the way your local post office delivers mail before Google sends the PIN. Never share the PIN, your password or a verification code with anyone who offers to verify the account for you.

If you have both AdSense and YouTube

You only have to verify your information once. [11]
